A host of refinements in the chassis, cab and powertrain means that the new R-series offers gains in payload, performance, fuel economy and reliability – just what you need for higher productivity and total operating economy.  Powertrain options include Scania Opticruise on all models.  Spacious and well-equipped sleeper cabs offer different roof heights, equipment levels and storage options to suit domestic, international and transcontinental transportation.
 
Both rigids and tractors offer different axle configurations and chassis heights.  Engine options begin at the 9- litre 310 and go right through to the V8 580.

All vehicles have an improved air suspension that gives even better protection to fragile loads. There is also the option to specify Scania ESP (Electronic Stability Program) which provides improved roll-over and jack-knife protection and adds stability when cornering and on adverse cambers.  The load handling system associated with the air suspension has been improved, to give easier, faster and more convenient assistance at the loading bay.
